Back To School Dr. Fadwa, Pharm.D., 4 September 202219 May 2024 Back-to-school time can be stressful for kids and parents alike… here are some helpful health tips to get everyone started off on the right foot this fall: Masks decrease your kids’ ability to think and concentrate due to oxygen deprivation, and among the little ones, it also inhibits their ability to hear clearly and mimic pronunciation. It’s best to avoid masking your children whenever possible. (see references 1-2) Activators and supplements are powerful tools to combat oxidative stress (a.k.a free radicals), which causes many serious health problems such as mental illness, anxiety and depression, memory loss, type I diabetes, bipolar disorder, and ADHD, among others. An NrF2 activator: (see reference 3) Helps the body produce glutathione, the “master antioxidant”; this strengthens the cells’ mitochondria (cells’ “power plants”). Glutathione “mops up” all excess oxidative stress. Relieves the body of this stress, thereby lowering any adverse effects (diabetes, mental illness, brain fog, arthritis, and more..) from overproduction and overexposure of oxidative stress and gives kids the energy they need for play, exercise, and athletics. Also helps balance neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine, and melatonin, which tend to be off-balance for kids with ADHD and depression. A mild B-complex that is methylated keeps the body’s methylation system from teeter-tottering. When oxidative stress is high, and there is not enough glutathione to offset the damage from oxidative stress. This causes the methylation system has to slow down, which can compromise hormone balance, DNA replication, and neurotransmitter balance. Nootropic drink powders with pine bark, l-theanine, and DMAE help with focus and memory, and give good fats to the brain for optimal function. Magnesium l-threonate is another excellent supplement that crosses the blood-brain barrier and gives additional support to calm the brain. Sugars are harmful to the brain’s normal operations; it doesn’t receive proper nutrition when the body spends so much time digesting sugars and trying to deal simultaneously with high levels of oxidative stress. Limit sugar intake for optimal overall health. Electronics and 5G often compromise the melatonin levels in kids; blue-light glasses help the body discern that it is nighttime so it can begin to increase melatonin, resulting in sounder sleep. Also, consider using timers or blocks on kids’ devices to limit screen time and protect them from seeing harmful images. (see reference 4) Vaccines: Data are revealing more and more the risks and dangers of vaccine injury (see reference 5). In addition, vaccines are purported to be safe and effective but contain toxic materials such as metals, graphene oxide, and formaldehyde. Most even contain fetal cell lines! Instead, rely on God’s design for the immune system to provide a more robust and longer-lasting immunity. You don’t need a vax immunity, all you need is your God given immune system that knows EXACTLY how to fight viruses and bacteria, and even cancer.
